The Liu Centre for the Study of Global Issues The Liu Centre was launched on the premise that scholars and practitioners, working together in collaborative interdisciplinary fashion, are able to produce fresh, coherent policy-relevant studies of value to the governance function. BORDER ECOWEB The Border EcoWeb is designed to facilitate public access to environmental information for the U.S.-Mexican border region. CENTER FOR INTERAMERICAN BORDER STUDIES The Center for Inter-American and Border Studies (CIBS) contributes to the fulfillment of the University of Texas at El Paso's (UTEP) mission by conducting and promoting research, academic programs, and public programming on themes related to Inter-American and Border Studies. These themes include culture and language, the arts, economics, trade, society, history, ecosystems and environment, health, and education in the Americas and the border region. COMMISSION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL COOPERATION (CEC) The Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) is an international organization created by Canada, Mexico and the United States under the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation (NAAEC). The CEC was established to address regional environmental concerns, help prevent potential trade and environmental conflicts, and to promote the effective enforcement of environmental law. The Agreement complements the environmental provisions of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). THE CENTER FOR INTERNATIONAL EVIRONMENTAL LAW (CIEL) The Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) is a public interest, not-for-profit environmental law firm founded in 1989 to strengthen international and comparative environmental law and policy around the world. CIEL provides a full range of environmental legal services in both international and comparative national law, including: policy research and publication, advice and advocacy, education and training, and institution building. UDALL CENTER FOR STUDIES IN PUBLIC POLICY The Udall Center specializes in issues concerning American Indian governance and economic development; environment, natural resources, and public lands; the U.S.-Mexico border; and related topics.
